I have such a boost of energy when I drink green smoothies in the morning. Now I am not capable of trading my morning coffee cause a girl needs that caffeine kick. But this surely adds to keeping me focussed.

It’s that time of the year where my favourite fruits are slowly popping up everywhere. I’ve doubled up on mangoes a few days ago & can’t get enough of it.

This has to be one of my favourite fruit salads. Watermelon, sweet melon & mango in a lemongrass infused juice.

Chilli bites or known in Cape Town as dhaltjies.

A very popular snack during the month of Ramadan in South Africa, made from pea flour, spinach & spices.
My muslim friends/family would either invite me to dinner or bring me “barakat” (a plate of snacks & goodies after they have had dinner). And there would always be chilli bites on it.

Seeing that I don’t live in SA any more, I’ve learned to cater to my cravings. And these were one of them.

Wishing all my Muslim followers a blessed month.

My French toast game has just gone up a level!

A few weeks ago @appelsientjenl posted a recipe for a orange flavoured caramel spread ... absolutely devine! I’ve been slapping it on everything. My favourite has to be on warm french toast with a jug of coffee.

Do you realise that is it almost Corona’s bday?! Are we ever getting out of this? 🤦🏽‍♀️
Well, guess it’s not too bad being in lockdown with todays crazy weather! 🌧 It’s definitely a soup kinda day.

We’ve decided to have our @hellofreshnl dinner for lunch. A #sweetpotatosoup with red bell pepper. I’ve opted to roast the veggies first cause I like being extra 😜

These Potato Goat's Cheese Balls made from @bettinegeitenkaas are a must try! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside with a whiff of cheese when you open it. It was gone in no time! The perfect snack at your next party or simply enjoy at any occasion. Recipe below or check out the video under my Reels section.

𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀
Easy - Makes 12-15

𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
- 400g potatoes
- 1 tbsp butter
- 100g Bettine Goat's Cheese
- 10g parsley
- 5g chilli flakes
- 5g salt
- 20g maizena
- breadcrumbs
- 500ml oil

𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
- Peel the potatoes, cut in cubes and boil until tender.
- Remove from heat and drain the water.
- Add butter, followed by goat's cheese, parsley, chilli flakes, salt and maizena.
- Stir / mash it and mix thoroughly.
- Use a tablespoon to scoop from the mixture and roll into balls.
- Roll the balls in breadcrumbs to cover completely.
- Heat the oil and fry the balls for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with chilli sauce.
